Amy Allen - I was born and raised right here in the Piney Woods of East Texas. I graduated from Longview High School in 1987 and after two years of Kilgore College and The Texas Shakespeare Festival, I headed for Huntsville. After receiving a Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree from Sam Houston State University in 1991, I began teaching drama in the Diocese of Galveston-Houston at Galveston Catholic School. That experience sparked a love for teaching and a passion for Catholic education. I returned to Longview in 1996 and began teaching 4th and 5th grade here at St Mary's. I then taught for 7 years in the Foster Middle School Magnet program for gifted and talented students. Now, God has given me the opportunity to return to St Mary's and I am truly greatful. My husband, Mike, and children, Keegan (8) and Kylee (4), are the greatest of my accomplishments.

I received a Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Cambridge, majoring in Math with minors in PE, Science and Computers. After teaching these subjects at Middle School, High School, and Junior College levels, I began work in 1986 at St. Mary's as an elementary classroom teacher. Currently I am working mostly in Technology, as well as in the Character and Virtue Program. I am a member of the staff of both the church and the school, with particular interest in Christian Initiation. I am working on a Master's Level degree in Religious Studies through the Catholic Distance University, am taking classes through the IRPS Program of University of Dallas, and am currently beginning to study for the Network Systems Specialist certificate through the University of Tennessee.

I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. At 18, I began further studies at Sam Houston State University, The San Antonio Art Institute, and finally I completed my BS in Communications at The University of Texas at Austin. We came to Longview in 1981 when my husband Gary was hired as an Engineer at Eastman Chemical Company. Gary and I just celebrated our twenty-fifth wedding anniversary and our greatest joy is our three children: Brianne (21), Alyssa (18), and Austin (15). Our two daughters are studying photography and art in college, and our oldest is engaged. Our son is active at Longview HS in advanced studies, band, and sports. We are parishioners at St. Matthew's. Over the past 20 years I have served in several local parishes as a youth director, catechist, and DRE. Members of our family currently serve at St. Matthew's as Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, a LifeTeen leader, RCIA team, and on the Youth Advisory Committee. I am enjoying my first year working at St. Mary's Catholic School with the new principal, Amy Allen, and all the dedicated staff and teachers. It is always a blessing to work around children.

My family and I have been connected to St. Mary's School for seventeen years! For the first four years, I was an involved parent, then was hired as a teacher and I've been teaching here for 13 years now. I have two sons, Chas and Alec, who graduated from St. Mary's, and my daughter, Anna, is currently in the first grade. My family and I expect to be involved here at St. Mary's for many years to come.

Married to Tom 28 years. 5 children ages 26-20 all living far away in WI, MT, and CT. Moved here in Dec. from KY. Only there 18 months. Prior we were in WI for 7 years which is the longest I've lived anywhere in my life. Lived in 10 states and Okinawa, Japan. Have visited every state in the continental US except Oregon. Have worked in schools systems for the past 10 years. Most interesting job to date was working for Sen. Wendell H. Ford in his Government Education Center at the Museum of Science and History in KY. I was responsible for leadership and government education programming at the museum. I got to handle an actual triceratops horn. Best job - teaching at St. Mary's!
